My Students

Before transitioning to a classroom I'd spent the better part of a decade as a digital media producer. Going back to high school or working as a teacher had not crossed my mind, but that changed as soon as I met the students in TC's TV Production program. These young videographers blew me away with their professionalism, skill, and desire to go above and beyond on their projects. These kids weren't treating TV like an elective, to them this was a job.

Our students have big goals, and more exciting still they have the skills to make them happen.

For all intents and purposes they serve as the production company for their school, and they've planned, shot, edited, and distributed everything from athletic events and recitals to special announcements from the principal to push important information out to the school. I am consistently impressed by my TCTV students, and can't wait to see them take the media world by storm after graduation.

My Project

We use industry standard equipment and software in TV Media Production, but the business has started to shift into more user friendly consumer products. Our editing software, Adobe Premiere, has recently come out with Adobe Premiere Clip - a streamlined version of the editing software built specifically for the iPad. This would allow our students to edit on the go around school without being tied down to the computer lab. This iPad would also enable us to wirelessly live stream videos in real time as they happed, so a guest speaker in one classroom could reach everyone in the school at once!
