Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students consist of inner city children that come from low-income families, and some are even homeless. As a teacher in an urban district, I work with four and five-year-old students ranging in levels of development. I have several students with special needs (IEPs) that are currently mainstreamed into my general education classroom. One student in particular currently has a personal aide to help support her in her daily school-related tasks.

My student population consists of inner-city children mainly coming from low-income families.

We are a dual-language school where students learn English and Spanish. We are proud to be a national school of character!

My Project

Remote/hybrid learning means carrying an abundance of materials to and from home as we are living in uncertain times. It has become quite challenging finding a means to bring our materials to and from school as there are too many to count. A cart with wheels would be extremely helpful to ensure that I could easily carry all of the materials necessary for remote and hybrid learning in one convenient, easy to maneuver place. Additionally, the magnetic felt board is a wonderful and portable option for continuing to ensure our students interact using felt stories both in school as well as at home. We use sentence strips daily in our teaching/learning and are always in need of more. These materials will be extremely helpful during this time of hybrid/remote learning.
