Popping Our Way Through Math

My Students

I am a kindergarten teacher at a NYC public school in Jamaica Queens. Many of our students are first-generation Americans whose parents’ first language is not English. Our kindergarteners are currently located outside of our main building in an annex location. This unique setting provides us with a strong sense of community where the teachers and administration really get to know one another. They love to learn through hands on projects and educational games.

What better way to learn than through games and having fun!

Kindergarteners learn best when they don't even realize they are practicing important skills. Through this project my students will be able to socialize and practice their math skills.

My Project

My students love to interact and play games. Using these games will help them practice necessary math skills while having fun with classmates. It is engaging and will help them reach math fluency standards. The quicker they add the faster they win. We can also use this game for subtraction as well.

Please help me give my students a fun math center game for the classroom.

They will be using these games in class. The students will practice addition facts by quickly adding with the dice. They will also have time to engage with their classmates.
