Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I’m about to start my 25th year of teaching and am excited about being back with my students. It is always difficult when I cannot provide kids who are hungry and thirsty with a snack or something to drink. When I have been able to keep some snacks or some water bottles around, students who arrive in need are immediately comforted by not only the food and drink, but just as importantly by the knowledge that their teacher is taking care of them, and not only academically.

Having a fridge, some cool water and a nice stash of snacks right there in our classroom will allow me to be able to, and show them, that I can and will always take care of them.
