My Project
My students need supplies to make pops to sell at our school based business. A school-based business is beneficial for students with special needs because it provides a structure for students, helps develop a sense of community and partnership with their gen ed peers, and gives students the opportunity to work on money and fine motor skills.
With the funding of this project, students are able to use the materials requested to complete multi-step instructions, hands-on learning, and work-based experience (inventory, stocking, etc.).
School-based businesses also provide a safe space for students with special needs to gain interpersonal skills such as stronger communication, self-confidence, and problem-solving.
