Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every year, students have the opportunity to deep-dive into a craft for self-expression and social activism. This year, one of the tools we will be using is Polymer clay. With this art material, students can create powerful jewelry to wear, to gift other students within the school, and to sell around the world through our Etsy shop!

In the past, students have created personal strength symbols that they placed on necklaces and keychains to remind them to pursue their talents and interests.

This year, we will build on projects like this to include symbols representing causes such as LGBTQ+ rights, gun control, and anit-vaping.
