My Project

When working with students who come from different countries and are non-native English speakers, I try to provide hands-on learning so that they can experience things that they may not ever get to learn in their other classes.

Imagine watching caterpillars grow into butterflies because you nurtured and cared for them and then released them to be natural pollinators to help grow produce that students can take home to their families.

This is an amazing opportunity for students to learn in a small group setting how butterflies grow and what is needed to help them grow successfully.

We can then use these butterflies to help pollinate different types of produce, such as cucumbers, peppers, herbs, etc. What a great experience to see where food comes from, to be able to take it home to their families, and to show that they grew this food.
