Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As an educator, my primary goal is to inspire and empower my students, fostering a love for learning and creativity. This summer I had the privilege to attend the two week Lorton Glazer and Norton Writing Institute and also a one week Poetry Institute hosted by the Poetry Foundation at the University of Miami. I learned of many creative lessons to implement in my classroom. Providing my class with a printer can significantly enhance our writing curriculum, enabling us to create an environment where students' work is celebrated and cherished. Once their work is printed, the printer will be a powerful tool that will instill confidence in our young writers and nurture a deep appreciation for the art of expression.

Seeing their written words come to life on paper will instill a sense of pride and accomplishment.

With access to a printer, my students will witness the tangible results of their hard work and dedication. This newfound confidence will encourage them to explore their writing potential further, taking ownership of their creative endeavors and pushing their boundaries.

The ultimate goal of this endeavor is to culminate the students' writing journey by creating their very own poetry books. Armed with the printer, we will compile and publish a collection of their best works, serving as a tangible reminder of their growth and achievements. These poetry books will not only be treasured keepsakes but also precious mementos of their time in my classroom.

By providing my class with a printer, we can take a significant step towards fostering a love of writing and empowering our young authors. The ability to print and showcase their work will give my students the confidence to express themselves freely and will ignite a lifelong passion for the written word!
