My Students

My students are a sweet group of first graders who come from many different countries including nations in Africa, Palestine, Iraq, Brazil, Vietnam, China, Japan, the Congo, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Cote D'Ivoire, Lebanon, Spain, Peru, and the Dominican Republic.

They are an excited and eager bunch! A portion of my students qualify for refugee status and coming to America has been exciting and overwhelming as they adapt and learn the language and customs. Many are first-generation English speakers.

My Project

My students need Plugo Link to help strengthen their math skills in conjunction with their higher thinking skills. These requested materials would help my students 1) focus and maintaining stamina with task oriented assignments and 2) collaborate and work on their English skills with academic language.

My students currently have Plugo Count and weuse it as a station rotation daily to reinforce number sense and practical application.

Plugo Link will give my students the opportunity to dig deeper with problem solving skills and collaborative team work (sharing materials and ideas). Find It, Go! materials will help my students maintain stamina by being able to focus on a task for longer periods of time and by stretching their brains to find specific objects.
