Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My third graders are curious learners and perceptive thinkers. They want to understand the world around them and contribute in a meaningful way towards a future that is bright with possibility. They face many obstacles in our urban neighborhood but with the right tools and opportunities they will soon be our future inventors, leaders, and decision makers. My students love to learn through reading and exploration. I watch them engage in our world community by interacting with current events and trying out new solutions to solve every problem. They are gifted communicators with limitless possibility.

My Project

We will use this laptop daily to learn through interactions with technology. We will be able to watch learning videos without worrying about crashing browsers or slow downloads. We will access the many interactive literacy websites to do research and listen to audio books. We will be able to video chat with experts in the fields of science and technology to make tangible connections between our lessons and their futures. The laptop will also allow students to create and contribute to a digital landscape. Students will be able to create digital projects. Additionally, they will also be able to learn the basics of computer science and coding through a pilot program we have launched this year.
