This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The headphones and chargers I am requesting will make a significant difference in my students’ learning by providing them with the tools they need to fully engage with digital literacy resources. Many of my students struggle with reading comprehension, and access to audiobooks, read-alouds, and interactive learning platforms can help bridge the gap. However, without headphones, they face distractions in a shared learning space, making it difficult to concentrate. Additionally, chargers ensure that our devices remain functional throughout the day, allowing students to consistently access these resources. These items will support individualized learning, helping students develop reading fluency, comprehension, and confidence.

My goal for this project is to create an equitable and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.

By providing headphones and chargers, I aim to eliminate barriers to engagement, allowing students to focus on their literacy development without external distractions. I want my students to feel empowered in their learning and have access to the same resources as their more affluent peers. This project will help foster independence, self-efficacy, and a love for reading.

What makes my students special is their resilience, curiosity, and determination. Despite facing socio-economic challenges, they show up every day eager to learn and grow. Many of my students are multilingual learners, deep thinkers, and creative problem-solvers who deserve to have accessible technology. They are hardworking, ambitious, and capable of achieving greatness when given the right support. By providing these resources, I hope to nurture their potential and help them succeed in literacy and beyond.
