My Students

My students love to listen to stories and this would be a great way to enhance their literacy skills.

I have 17 students in each of my AM and PM Pre-K classes.

I work in a low-income school and our program is an At-Risk Pre-K. At-risk factors include poverty, single family homes, incarcerated parent, English as a second language, etc. I also have 30% of my students with IEPs. My students range in age from 3-5 years.

My Project

The listening center allows my students instant access to books. Students can pop in a CD, put on some headphones, and follow along while listening to and "reading" a story. Four students can sit in the listening center and read together. This will be a great addition to our literacy curriculum!

This project will impact my students year after year!

It will continue to foster a love of reading and books. My students love to listen to stories and this would be a great way to enhance their literacy skills.
