My Students

Our Active Board was such a great tool for my ESL students to use to interact with lessons, but without a bulb, we are not able to use it as intended.

I have 42 wonderful kindergarten through fifth grade ESL students who have varying levels of ESL proficiency in a Title 1 school with school-wide free and reduced lunch participation.

My students are hard-working, responsible, determined, and motivated to learn English. Some students are still learning basic words, while others are trying to become proficient in reading and writing. They are a fantastic group of individuals!

My Project

Right now, the board is just being used to hang written examples and posters instead of using it to more actively engage my students. With the replacement bulb for the Active Board, my students will be able to better see visuals, videos, and assignments that I have on my computer. I will be able to model using the board, and the students will be able to come up to interact with the board. They would be able to again write on the board, choose correct objects, move items, and much more. This simple replacement bulb would reinvigorate our classroom learning environment!

This donation will fund a new bulb and allow interaction with lessons like we had experienced before, which is a great boost to my English Language Learners.

It will put the light back into our learning!
