My Project

Our school has 115 preschool aged students who are navigating their first year in a school environment. For most of our student population, this requires more support. Majority of our classrooms are self-contained special education classrooms, where students with a variety of developmental delays and diagnoses are being supported to reach their individualized goals. For students with special needs, sitting for an activity proves to be a tall task. With this project, we hope to provide seating options for the entire school.

With more flexible seating, our students will have a variety of options to help maintain focus/attention and provide necessary sensory input.

A student whose body feels safe and ready to learn, is more likely to try new/challenging things. We are hoping to create an environment that provides as much physical support as it does emotional and academic.
