Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My co-teacher and I teach English to a beautifully diverse group of learners in a Title I school, in integrated co-teaching settings (ICT). The students in our classrooms come from many linguistic backgrounds and learn through many different modalities and methods. Many of them are also new to English.

Being able to create instructional materials, such as graphic organizers, differentiated texts, and goal trackers - just to name a few - is essential to ensuring our amazing students reach their academic goals.

Our students rely on the print-rich environment we provide for them. Some examples of supplementary instructional materials we create and provide for our scholars include: vocabulary and skills charts, laminated game cards that make learning accessible and fun, and colorful classroom coupons that serve as incentives for positive student participation. We are only able to enrich our classroom in this way with ink and paper for the classroom printer!

Due to budget constraints, access to photocopy machines in our school is limited. I was able to obtain a printer through generous donations on DonorsChoose. Now, we need toner and paper to continue utilizing this gift. Please consider donating to this project, and providing these incredible students access to the tools they need for their success!
