Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

First things first! Thank you so much for looking into this project.

I am a teacher at a K-12 Manhattan public school in a low-income community.

Because our students spend a large portion of their lives at school, teachers try their best to improve student experiences in and out of the classroom.

My personal goal is to improve accessibility for all students (with particular attention towards students with disabilities), through different methods and means. This is not always easy because of limited access to resources, which can impede my ability to receive much-needed tools like translation/reader devices, and noise-canceling headsets. With your support, I can provide support, as well as classroom-enhancing materials and motivators like board games and stickers.

Our students are hard-working, curious, and powerful self-advocates. This is the result of a caring community and the dedication of their teachers to supporting students from K-12. They will benefit from receiving different opportunities when it comes to receiving different solutions and types of support in the classroom. With your help, we can make that happen.
