My Students

We have some amazing students in our school! While many face some unbelievable challenges each and every day, these kids come to school ready to lear. We get excited about books, and it melts my heart whenever I hear "five more minutes!" when the reading bell goes off!

On any given day, you can walk into my classroom and feel the energy of learning in the room.

Hands are in the air, excited to read aloud or share. My kids are quick to offer each other feedback and support their peers. It really is a heart-warming sight to see the enthusiasm these kids have for learning!

My Project

Throughout this school year we have been able to develop readers out of our 6th grade! Every Monday morning there is a line of students waiting to choose new books, and an overflowing "on hold" bin for next reads. But with all of this voracious reading, students are starting to hit a wall when choosing books.

To keep up their energy and enthusiasm, we need new books to restock our shelves.

The books listed in this project are from our student wish list; they are authors or genres our students have fell in love with and want to read more of. Having these books would help reinvigorate our independent reading for the final months of the school year.
