This is an amazing Career and Technical Center with wonderful high school age students from lower income district. Our students attend our full time comprehensive school programs because they want to. I teach a Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Certification program. The students become CNA's and then are able to enter the work force. We need all types of equipment for our class room. We have a simulated hospital room for the students to practice in on a daily basis. All of our equipment is donated and we have used it for many years. Some of our equipment is outdated. I am fairly new to the program and I purchase many things out of my own pocket.
My Project
Obesity is at an all time high in the United States.
Current statistics show that over 40 percent of adult Americans are now Obese and 20 percent of adolescents are considered obese.
My class is a Nurse Aide class for High School Students. We are located in a low income community. This revolutionary simulation product can fit almost any manikin or can be worn by a student acting as the patient.
Multiple access holes are implanted throughout the suit for simple IV, peri care, enema and catheterization simulations.
With the growing bariatric patient population in the US, this obesity suit is an absolute necessity for our simulation lab.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
