Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach fine art to a diverse population of students, ranging from honors to students receiving special education services, and English Language Learners who come from many different cultural backgrounds and educational needs. We are a Title I funded school, which means that students come from many different social and economic circumstances. I teach art to twelve different 6th grade classes. I also have after school clubs three days a week.

My Project

I teach visual art to 300 students a week. Due to the nature of the projects of the subject, they need to wash their hands at the end of each class.

Students need to wash their hands to prevent catching germs, notably, COVID-19.

Liquid soap is therefore needed. Due to the volume of students I would like to order eight gallons, which would last through the end of the academic year.

Donors' generosity will keep students healthy and not miss school, which is crucial to their intellectual and socio-emotional growth.
