Kindergarteners are so much fun to teach!! They are the funniest, the cutest, and they have the potential to learn so much in one year! You see so much growth academically and socially in Kindergarten.
Kindergarten is so rewarding yet challenging to teach.
The kids come to Kindergarten on so many different levels. Some start not knowing their letters and not even knowing how to write their name and by the end they are reading and writing stories. These kids deserve high quality education from a National Board Certified teacher!
These funds will help me obtain my National Board Certification which is something that I have wanted to do for years but money has been a factor for me not pursuing this dream of mine. I finally decided to take the leap and start the process this school year because our school system will now pay for half. This amount I am requesting is for the other half that is not funded by the school system.
The National Board Certification process helps a teacher think differently about their teaching and is the best professional development.
It makes you question what a highly accomplished teacher would do in every situation. It helps you to identify and utilize best practices in all subject areas. It is a very intensive process that contains 4 components which focuses on different areas of the teaching profession. Going through this process will highly affect student learning!
A National Board Certified teacher made an impact on me during my teaching career. She was my mentor teacher my first year teaching kindergarten 13 years ago. I learned so many best practices from her. She is part of the reason why I want to pursue my National Board Certification. I strive to this day to make an impact on my students' lives like she did mine and every student and teacher she came in contact with. National Board Certified teachers not only affect their students, they positively affect their colleagues as well. Obtaining my National Board Certification will help make me an even better teacher than I am today and give me an opportunity to make a huge impact on my future students, teachers, parents, and community!!
