This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
We have aspiring students attending this one hundred and thirty (130+) year old Title one (1), Booker T. Washington High School for Engineering Professionals (HSEP) school, located in the underserved community of Houston, Texas. The school is formerly known as, "The Old Colored High School".
Although "Golf" is not a familiar sport in this community, students are becoming very interested in the sport because of its scholarship opportunities for higher learning and long term social benefits.
Because of the seasonal early darkness hours, long distance from the nearest golf course/practice range, and dismissal from school at 4:45 PM, causes great challenges to develop competitive high school boys and girls golfers.
Therefore we need to bring some of the necessary golf training/practicing equipment to our campus and this is why we are reaching out to you to please help our students.
