My Project

The PS5 will be a valuable educational tool in our STEM lab, particularly if paired with the right games and activities-Here are the games and activities that we will engage in:By integrating the PS5 into your STEM lab, you can create an engaging and innovative learning environment that inspires students and prepares them for future STEM opportunities.

Minecraft: Education Edition: Students will learn and teach coding, engineering, and design concepts.

Students can collaborate to build structures, solve challenges, and learn teamwork.

Kerbal Space Program: Explores physics, engineering, and space exploration as students build and launch rockets.

No Man’s Sky: Combines space exploration with resource management /science-based problem-solving.

Portal Knights: Encourages creativity and basic engineering concepts through collaborative gameplay and problem-solving.

Goals for PS5 in STEM Class:

*Teach Core STEM Principles:

Use games to introduce and reinforce concepts like physics, coding, and engineering in a hands-on way.

*Develop 21st-Century Skills:

Enhance problem-solving, teamwork, and digital literacy.

*Career Exploration:

Use simulations to give students a glimpse into STEM careers, such as engineering, aviation, and game design.

*Foster Creativity:

Encourage students to design and build, using games as platforms for innovation.

*Promote Equity and Inclusion:

Provide an alternative for mystudents who learn better through interactive and experiential methods rather than traditional lectures.

My students are special because they continue to create wonderful classroom communities and help each other along the way.

How I will use the PS5 effectively

Structured Play: I will align games with lesson objectives.

Project-Based Learning: I will assign tasks that require students to solve problems or create projects using the games.

Collaboration: Use multiplayer games to foster teamwork and communication skills.

Reflection and Discussion: Have students reflect on their gaming experience and discuss the STEM principles.
