My Project

Please help me to bring the awesome experience of playing with clay to my amazing students. Your donation will help provide durable air-dry clay for my PreK to 8th grade students.

Crayons and paint on 2D paper are absolutely wonderful, however there’s something uniquely exciting about imagining, then bringing to life your own 3D creation.

Clay is different, fun, relaxing, squishy, and, as I observed, can be less intimidating than drawing.

Here are only some of the benefits of sculpting with clay:

•Clay modeling involves both creative thinking and problem-solving, activating both left and right brain.

•Clay play offers therapeutic benefits, allowing kids to release stress and anxiety through the tactile experience of kneading and shaping.

•Clay serves as a medium for self-expression. Kids translate abstract thoughts into tangible forms, enhancing communication skills.

•Clay encourages children to explore boundless possibilities, dream up scenarios, and invent unique characters. The open-ended nature of clay modeling sparks creativity, helping kids think outside the box.

•Clay molding demands precision and control, refining fine motor skills. Pinching, squeezing, and shaping the clay strengthen the muscles in fingers and hands. This improvement in dexterity not only aids in clay modeling but also enhances skills essential for tasks like writing and tying shoelaces.

•Clay modeling activities become a canvas for emotional expression. Children channel their emotions into their creations, fostering a healthy outlet for joy, frustration, or excitement. This process enables them to understand and manage their feelings.

•Clay encourages a trial-and-error approach. Children experiment with shapes and forms, learning through their mistakes. This fosters resilience, perseverance, and a positive attitude towards challenges, essential skills that extend beyond the creative realm. (source: fevicreate.com)
