My Students

Physical education in LAUSD has become a top priority in the fight against obesity. We want to make sure that we have enough quality playground equipment to meet the 200 hours/two week of P.E. that our state and district requires as well as equipment for recess.

Our students endure many daily challenges, which includes at times, just meeting their basic needs like food, shelter, and clothing.

We have limited safe parks and recreation areas for our students in our community. N.E.S. for many of our students is a safe haven; a place they can come to learn, eat, and play.

My Project

I envision our students using the playground equipment during recess, physical education, and psychomotor. Our students will be able to play basketball, kickball, handball, and other games that require such equipment. Through these games, our students will learn teamwork, physical skills, and movement activities. We hope to instill the importance and love of physical fitness through the use of the equipment.

The joy of receiving quality equipment will change our students' lives for the better.

Our students deserve a quality education. The teachers at N.E.S. hope to teach with the necessary tools to do the job right just like a professional painter. When we have quality P.E. equipment to teach the games, everyone wins!
