For many of my students this is a place where they can step outside of their comfort zone, explore the world around them and take risks as young learners. As their teacher it is my role to foster their love for learning, to build their confidence, and to support their academic, social and emotional needs in order to ensure their success.
Each morning, students arrive in our classroom and are given the opportunity to select a morning tub.
Students are able to engage in play with peers at their table as they build upon fine motor skills and language skills. This simple task allows young learners to practice speaking and listening to others, problem solving strategies and so much more.
I want to provide my students with new toys and play materials for our morning tubs, such as wooden town pieces, lincoln logs, wooden vehicles, wooden people, as well as plastic animals.
This project will bring more high engaging play items into our kindergarten classroom, which will promote positive social interactions, develop vocabulary, nurture meaningful learning, and strengthen problem solving skills.
