Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will help to incorporate strategizing skills and inactive skills throughout my classes. Game playing is an authentic experience that provides an opportunity to develop thinking abilities and life skills in an entertaining, engaging, and exciting format. Board games help students learn reflective thinking, planning, problems solving, decision making, logical thinking, emotional intelligence, cooperation, competition, dealing with mistakes, as well as deferring gratification. A few of the games we need include The World Game, Ticket to Ride First Journey Board Game, and Connect 4.Board games ultimately develop mental flexibility, which leads to greater resiliency. The board games I have selected will provide enrichment opportunities for my students to engage and interact face-to-face with their peers, all the while building essential life skills for success.

Each of my classes will incorporate opportunities for student enrichment through board games to develop skills beyond academic learning.

The variety of games selected will provide broad appeal to students, as well as emphasize unique thinking and life skills.
