Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are an energetic bunch of kindergarteners who are excited about school. Some have been to pre-school and some are experiencing school for the first time. Social skills and peer interactions are really important in Kindergarten. These dramatic play items will help them practice these skills while using their imagination. They will get the opportunity to be creative and pretend. They will also develop turn taking skills, high level thinking and problem solving. Dramatic play also gives students the chance to practice vocabulary and build relationships. My students will be able to use these items everyday during developmental time in the afternoon. They will be able to take care of the baby dolls, practice serving ice cream and play vet with their dog. Students will also use the tool kit and housecleaning set around the classroom.
