My Students

My kids are bright, energetic, full of imagination and fun. I say "my kids" because that's exactly what they are. They are my kids for 180 days. I care about them, I nurture their growth and I worry about their futures.

My students are four turning five and the amount of energy and excitement that they bring to our classroom is endless.

They are little sponges ready to soak up any knowledge I share and they learn BEST through play.

My Project

Imagine a world without play, a world in which children are expected to sit quietly while completing meaningless worksheets. Unfortunately, this scenario is playing out in classrooms across the country. The need for children to play is being forgotten, recess is getting shorter and play in the classrooms is saved for rainy days.

Fortunately for my TK students play is still regarded as an important part of our day.

My room is a bustling and busy place filled with laughter excitement and lets be honest sometimes tears.

The materials that I am requesting will help my students not only with their social and emotional skills (sharing, building friendships, following directions, taking turns, etc...) but will also help to foster their critical thinking skills.

The Engineer-A-Coaster activity set and Create-A-Path Magnetic Center will give my students the ability to let their creative juices flow while teaching them valuable lessons in math and science. The Counting Cones and Cars kit will provided my students with fun and engaging manipulatives that will enforce math skills. All of the items that I have requested from sensory slime to light table manipulatives are all resources that will spark creativity and excitement for my young learners.
