My Project

My students are currently performing on a first and second-grade level. To help them truly understand and retain Math skills, they need plenty of time to play, practice, and problem-solve. Repeating these skills in a fun and engaging way allows students to take ownership of their learning and master foundational concepts in Math. T

Through hands-on activities and repeated practice, my students will build confidence in Math and social skills.

Students will use Play-Doh to explore important math concepts in a hands-on way. They will build number sense by shaping numbers and counting objects, practice addition by combining pieces, create arrays to understand multiplication, model fractions by dividing Play-Doh into equal parts, and form shapes to learn about geometry. This interactive approach helps students visualize math concepts, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and make learning more engaging and meaningful.

Snakes and Ladders, Sum Swamp, and Dinosaur Magnetic will teach students missing addends, provide a solid foundation of word problems, and teach vocabulary: more, less, greater, least, most, difference and so much more!

Geometry shapes, translucent blocks, and linking cubes will provide a new way to use our light table for math activities. These tools will allow students to explore and manipulate shapes, solve geometric problems, and visualize mathematical concepts, creating an engaging and interactive learning experience. This project will not only empower my students with the foundational math skills they need but also ignite their passion for learning, making education a fun, hands-on adventure that they will carry with them for years to come
