This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have 24 wonderful TK/K students who come in excited to learn. They greet me every morning with a smile. They get excited to tell me about their day or an upcoming event that makes them happy. They enjoy coming to school to learn and play with centers especially the literacy ones.
It is such a joy to see students learn the sounds of each letter and try to put those sounds together to read words!
They get so excited when they know they can read a word! Please help me provide a multi-sensory approach to letters and sounds to my transitional kindergarten class.
These items will help my students be engaged while learning. Many of these literacy activities are play-based which helps develop their fine motor skills. The area where I teach is very rough for my little scholars and our resources are limited. However, I see the urgency, so I try to supplement what I can to help my students learn and be prepared for the next grade. These items will help my students, especially my new comers, students with disabilities, and my higher students will benefit as well. These are all scaffolds to cater to each student at their level.
