Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are amazing energetic, enthusiastic preschoolers. They love hands-on activities, working together, and interacting with each other. Playing outside with different kinds of balls and equipment is one of their favorite school activities.

My project will provide my PreK students with more resources to promote a variety of developmentally appropriate physical activities and more options to keep them physically and socially engaged.

Unfortunately, nowadays, most children spend too much time in activities that do not involve physical activity like the internet, social networks, and video games. Ensuring regular physical activity in school will improve the brain function and the social-emotional development of the preschool child. This is supported by many different studies because they show that regular physical activity brings several benefits to children's health. My project will help my PreK students get active and engaged while developing several important gross motor skills necessary for their proper physical and mental development.

My class goes outside for 25-30 minutes every day as part of our preschool curriculum, however many of my students struggle with what to do during this time. Many of them due to the lack of resources simply do not participate in vigorous physical activities and sometimes engage in challenging behavior. My goal with this project is to provide my students with more focused and meaningful opportunities for playing and being physically active during our daily outside exploration time.

To sum it up, my project is asking for materials and resources like two Beginner's Basketball Portable Hoops, and a variety of balls for my students to have more options for physical activity. Your donation will make a huge difference for my students and our school. Thank you for your interest.
