Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

During center time, my 2 and 3 year old students love to play with play dough! This project would allow me to set up an organized play dough area with different colored doughs, textured rolling pins, dough extruders and cookie cutters. This particular set has a variety of tools that would serve as an opportunity for students to have many options to choose from in order to manipulate the media and create something magical.

Tasks like rolling, cutting and pulling can strengthen student fine motor skills.

The tools and dough are fun to use and often over time are worn out or dry, and therefore we need to replenish our supply. There is a tub for each type of tool and they are clearly labeled with pictures and words. The materials are available on a counter so students can stand or sit when creating.
