Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For most of our students, Kindergarten is their first experience in a school setting. We serve a high needs population, and know our littlest learners thrive when presented with opportunities to learn through hands on exploration and play.

The items in this project will help create an environment that allows all our Kinders to thrive!

A classroom rug for our Peace Place, sensory toys, and SEL books will help us learn to regulate our feelings. Building toys, dress-up, and games provide us with opportunities to strengthen social skills, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal relationships. Items such as paints, cardstock, and playdoh will allow us to create and learn to express ourselves and our needs appropriately. Finally, pencil boxes, sit spots, and baby wipes will help us become independent learners who take ownership and responsibility for their learning and learning environments.
