This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Reality Check! Simulated sports through video consoles have taken over youth! Immersing students in the world of real sports will allow them to rediscover how fun and invigorating playing sports can actually be.

Our school has committed to implementing fitness days that include physical education to educate the whole student.

Our fitness program emphasizes the development of fundamental locomotor, non-locomotor, and manipulative skills through the main content areas of educational games, dance, and gymnastics. The California Framework, for body, space, effort, and relationship is the core content and is the basis for developing, expanding, and refining children’s range of motor skills and fitness awareness.

My Project

I am requesting baseball equipment sets of bats, balls, gloves, bases, tee ball holders,and scrimmage vests. These items will allow me to effectively immerse my students in the world of baseball. Research supports the importance of movement in educating both mind and body. Physical education contributes directly to development of physical competence and fitness. I will help students to make informed choices about the world of sports and understand the value of leading a physically active lifestyle.

Motivation to participate in sports is not consistent across varied socioeconomic levels of student populations.

Implementation of physical activities like sports immersion will create a positive student self image to overcome the students background and impact their academic achievement.
