Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class is made up of diligent, inspiring, and creative fourth graders with big hearts and analytical minds. They attend school every day with purpose and a desire to learn something new, to discuss what they think, and take pride in their efforts. My students learn in a bilingual community with a high level of family support. They attend our school with growing technology opportunities that enhance their approach, application, and articulation of their knowledge and their new learning. We balance this with creativity and physical opportunities with that support the development of persistence, teamwork, and determination.

My Project

Our students are enthusiastic about our sports! For many of them, school is the only opportunity to play team sports. We have four intramural teams learning to play baseball. Most of them are learning the sport for the first time. Baseball season is approaching and we need to get ourselves competition ready.

We need enough new baseball gloves so that every student can spend part of their practice time actively throwing and catching.

This baseball equipment will allow us to make that happen. The more the students are able to practice consistently, the more development they will see.

Many life-lessons come with participating in team sports.

Baseball is filled with opportunities to develop teamwork, communication, and self-esteem. It provides a great social outlet where both collaboration and competition are valued. It will also provide opportunities for our students to see the benefits of practicing skills in which they see their development soar.
