My Students

Inspire my students to love the environment and have an appreciation for plants.

As a Title I school almost all my students qualify for school lunch.

They come from low income homes where they are not able to experience everything. My students are a diverse group. They love to learn and work well together as a group. During our Science lessons my students show a love of learning. They are faced with little world experiences, especially with the environment while at home.

My Project

I am requesting resources to use in my Science curriculum and Plants. These resources will help my students to create life with a class set of planting resources. A classroom greenhouse will allow them have a piece of the environment with them every day. The books and visuals about plants will help aid with my ESL and ELL learners. When beginning our Science unit on Plant Adaptations my class will be able to learn hands-on about the life cycle of a plant. Using the seeds, soil, and especially greenhouse will set a foundation for future plant life lessons and experiments.

This project is so important to me because I feel my students should have the opportunity to plant and see their own plants grow.

Having all these resources in my classroom will inspire them to learn more about the environment, plant adaptations, and scientific observations. Please help my students to be inspired during classroom Science lessons and experiments!
