Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My amazing students have been learning about what plants need to live and grow and I would love to give them a hands-on experience to bring their learning to life! I would like to provide my second graders with small plant pots and flower seeds.

With these materials, they will be able to plant their own seeds, care for them, and even decorate the pots to make the experience more personal and engaging.

This project will not only reinforce their science lessons but teach responsibility and patience as they watch their plants grow. This will help students develop a deeper understanding of how plants grow, apply their learning in a real-world way, and take ownership of their learning experience. The students will observe changes over time, document their plants' growth, and connect their learning to the environment around them. I am also requesting a story book and real plants to decorate the classroom.
