Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are going to learn so much from our outdoor garden experience. Our science classes can be linked to this project, we can observe, take notes, measure, and calculate all while saving butterflies and pollinators. We want more green spaces in our school. I have learned that green spaces can improve concentration and reduce stress. Our garden will be located in a spot that 2nd through 5th-grade students will walk by to enjoy and even join the learning. I hope my students grow enough fruits or vegetables that we can all taste and even sell to raise funds for a cause. Turning this original year-long science lesson into an economics class. My students this year were my online kindergarten and first-grade brick-and-mortar so they know basic gardening and composting. Now that they are 4th graders, I want to take it further and collect rainwater and help pollinators even more. My students are going to enjoy this so much! Thank you for supporting
