Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year we planted 5 radish plants. They began to sprout and since the first moment of life it was the only thing the students could focus on. All of my students want to experience the excitement again. Growing plants throughout the rest of the school year would be an exciting opportunity for them. The plan is to have each student plant 2-3 different herbs and vegetables. We will check on the plants daily, water them and document growth!

Once the plants sprout, students will be able to take them home and share with their families.

We will even be making home to school connections, by families sharing recipes with the plant that is brought home.

The products that I have selected will help enhance our science unit. Scholars will bring in their personal family experiences and make hands on connections to planting.
