This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My name is Ms. M., and I am a third year teacher in Baltimore City. My 5th grade classroom, which is in a small school located in Southwest Baltimore, thrives on student happiness and success. Each and every student who walks through our door brings his or her own set of inspirations and life experiences, and they inspire me every day to be the best I can be. About 86.3% of our students are on the free or reduced price meal plan, and 25.2% are English Language Learners.

I wholeheartedly believe that every single one of my students has what it takes to be successful, and I am willing to try whatever it takes to get them where they need and WANT to be.

I love seeing our students, throughout the whole school, walk in with smiles on their faces, and I will try anything I can think of to ensure those smiles remain there. After all, school is all about learning and growing together.

My Project

This particular project will be reaching four different grade levels in my elementary/middle school. Students in grades 5-8 will be the scholars benefitting from the donations of academic planners.

The goal is for the students to use their planners to become more organized, however, it will also provide them with many different resources that will aid them greatly as they prepare for high school.

Along with having the months and days mapped out to help students achieve organizational success, there are also the many resources that are available. Resources such as goal setting, study tips, and time organization skills that supplement our middle school´s advisory curriculum. Students will also have access to resources that will benefit them in their everyday content classes as well that they are able to refer back to as needed.
