Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Trenton, New Jersey, is (and this is amazing!) a sanctuary city. Students from nations all over the world immigrate to Trenton with their families. The city, although economically poor in many areas, is rich in cultures and heritage from all corners of the world. We have a growing population of Hispanic immigrants, most speaking their native language Spanish. Many of our students, both native and non-native to Trenton, struggle to meet basic classroom needs each day. This means that it is extra important for us to make sure they have a classroom filled with essential items that they can access at any time and project-based learning materials for a dynamic and exciting class. Their social/emotional well-being depends on knowing that they are cared for, loved, and respected.

The items I am requesting will provide materials that will help with planning our upcoming student carnival.

I am requesting planners, tickets, and a backpack for storage.

These organization and planning items will go a long way in ensuring our students have an outstanding activity that supports their social-emotional learning. I am requesting these items in anticipation of our first annual student carnival which we hope students will love and enjoy every year.
