Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are an all girls class located in the highest and most disadvantaged economic area of the South Bronx, NY. The 2019-2020 year is special to us because I decided to loop with this group of sweet and spicy girls who just make my teaching days very memorable and rewarding. The girls are becoming tweens with many challenges ahead of them. But we have made a pact with one another; we will deal with the things we can change and we leave everything else that is not in our control alone. These girls have heart and sass; they have big dreams and plans for themselves.

My Project

The girls need to be able to learn how to organize and plan for their upcoming school year. This will instill high school and college readiness for being able to use a planner for their important academic events in the future. The plan books will keep daily assignments and many due dates for projects. It will also help remind parents and themselves of any class trips or upcoming important dates. The color markers will help my ELL learners as well as my struggling learners because they will be able to color code these events. The planner will also keep tasks organized in one book.
