Help me give my students a PINK STEM center to build Classroom Equity

My Project

This is a Pink STEM work center aimed at attracting more females to Computer Engineering Technology and STEM careers. As a current STEM teacher in a Title I school and community, it is important to attract females to this male-dominated career path.

While females in Software engineering careers has increased to 23%, females in Computer Hardware Engineering comprises of only 13%.

Since teaching this course, there have been a 5% increase of female enrollment (averaging 1.3 females per class of 5 scheduled classes). My goal is to increase female enrollment by 15% or 2 females per class.

I believe that the items in the cart will make a tremendous impact as there will be 2 dedicated areas for my female students.

Ms. Davis Northeast Guilford High School Grades 9-12
