Help me give my students with special needs the ability to print their work in color. Manipatives and board games can help their social-emotional, critical thinking, fine-motor skills while learning and collaborating with their peers.

My Project

I am humbly requesting these items so that I can provide an effective, quality learning environment for my students. These items requested will help my students learn because they have special needs and require additional services, care, and attention. These items will allow me to print visuals in color so that they are able to relate to the real world. The color printer will also help these students to remain engaged as the colors will be more appealing to them as they learn. In addition, the manipulatives and board games will assist my hands-on learners. These students will benefit from using tangible items that will also increase their fine motor skills as well as social-emotional and collaborative skills.

The curriculum used in my school district is Wit & Wisdom.

It requires the use of many charts displayed per lesson. My goal is to add visuals to my anchor charts as well as student worksheets and word wall so that students will be able to be stimulated by the color and make real-life connections. Color in print is usually more effective when teaching students. Especially young students because it helps to keep them interested and more focused. The board games will help students work collaboratively as well as enhance their critical thinking skills. They can work and play separately or with partners to complete the tasks.

My students are extremely special and unique because they are diverse in their disabilities, needs, creativity, and personalities. These resources that I am requesting will help them both academically and socially. I believe that they are capable of making a difference by using their skills and it is my job to help them get there.
