Celebrate Chicago - Celebrate Our Diversity. I'm a third grade teacher who has developed a fabulous unit on Chicago and the diversity of the people that live there.

For the past three years I have been developing a unit based on the diversity of Chicago in relation to the students in my class. This is an awesome way for students to learn more about their own and other cultures within Chicago. Being able to photograph neighborhoods that we visit during our trips would serve as a reminder of what we saw, and in turn, learned while on those trips. In recent years students did not have the cameras that were needed. I feel that keeping a photo journal will help increase student awareness of diversity in Chicago.

Digital cameras and docking stations will benefit students because they will allow students to photograph important aspects of the trips that relate to the topic of diversity in Chicago. Students will be able to develop their own pictures and use them for a variety of activities within the unit.
