I am a kindergarten teacher in a low economic school district in Oklahoma. I have 54 five and six year old students who come to my class for reading and writing instruction daily.
My district is unable to purchase technology that I feel is valuable when teaching reading and writing skills. My students love taking pictures and will be able to narrate stories about their pictures.
By receiving the digital camera, my students will benefit because the pictures they are able to take means something to them which will make them want to write about it. This will then help improve their writing skills and also their reading skills. They love to have shared reading time and they will be able to share their "story" with their friends.
Without donors like you my students would not have necessary technology to improve their reading and writing skills. I have requested an HP digital camera that will help boost reading and writing scores in my classroom.
