Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My third grade students are as inquisitive as they come! They are a group of curious dual language (English/Spanish) students that love to read and engage in conversations with each other. They love to collaborate and learn something new from each other on a plethora of topics.

My third graders' thirst for knowledge is truly inspiring to witness especially because it's a bright light in an otherwise not so desirable environment.

For many of these students, our classroom is truly a haven that allows them to travel way beyond their impoverished surroundings.

Unfortunately, our access to high-interest books is very limited.

My Project

The books I am requesting for my students have been carefully selected to help my students become immersed in lively discussions around characters that not only lure us into books, but also keep us reading.

These books will help my students become more empathetic and sympathetic, not just to fictional characters but to the people we meet in the world and each other.

These high-interest books spotlight amazing characters and will invite my students to get to know characters and study them deeply. Your donation will take my third graders on intellectual journeys right in the footsteps of the characters.
