Picture No More Bullying In Schools

My students need the book, "Bullying in Schools," a digital camera, memory card, and printer so they are provided an opportunity to access a medium of expression against bullying.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Were you ever bullied? How scary was it? Were you able to stand up for your rights or were you terrified? My students are facing these issues at school. I would like my students to learn how to stand up to bullies.

My students come from a mostly lower socioeconomic demographic, and many do not speak English at home.

Most of the students qualify for a free lunch, have limited resources at home, and stay at school until the early evening because of their hard working parents who are trying to make it. Our school does its best to inspire the kids and bring the curriculum to life. But the challenges of limited budgets and language barriers make that mission difficult.

My Project

The book "Bullying in Schools" will inform my students on this important topic. They will learn what bullying is, what it looks like, and what they need to do to be safe. The digital camera with memory card will give my students the opportunity to capture images around their school that show respect, friendship, teamwork, and many other positive situations. With the printer, these images will be featured in student created, anti-bullying newsletters and pamphlets that will be printed in the classroom and distributed throughout our school. When children write a plan on how to handle a bullying situation, act it out with their classmates, digitally capture it with their camera, and publish and print it for the whole school, they will become masters on this important topic. This opportunity will make it easier for them to stand up to a bully when and if that ever happens.

All children need to feel safe.

We must spread the word! My students' published work will deliver a strong message that there is no place for bullying at our school! I believe this message coincides with the vision of Townsend Press in eradicating bullying in our schools. Thank you to everyone, in advance, for any support you can provide.
