My Project

P.I.C., the Student Photography interest club is a diverse group of about 25 students who share a passion for photography. Our mission is to create a welcoming environment where students can learn, collaborate, and express themselves through the art of photography no matter what skill level. We host monthly meetings/ mini-workshops to help build student knowledge of photography. This includes opportunities to develop skills and understanding of composition, f stop and shutter speed, how the camera operates etc.

We believe that photography fosters creativity, critical thinking, and technical skills that are essential for academic and personal growth.

Our club is open to students of all experience levels, from beginners to advanced photographers, and we are committed to making photography accessible to all. We explore the use of cameras but we also use what most students have access to, the cell phone.

Purpose of the Grant-

To continue developing our program as this is a small starter club at the moment and provide the best possible learning experience for our members, we request funding to purchase essential camera supplies. These supplies include polaroid cameras, attachments for micro photography using a cellphone and STEM activities regarding pinhole cameras.
