My Students

Most of my students come from low-income households. My students look forward to coming to Physical Education class every day. For some of these students, this is the only physical activity they engage in throughout their day. They love learning the fundamentals and principles of different sports. They engage in socialization in a safe manner following guidelines that they may not be able to do in other classes due to Covid safety measures and classroom space restrictions.

My Project

Physical education provides opportunities to provide a physical activity which is important for healthy bodies. Physical Education can also foster confidence and provide an outlet for emotional development. It also provides opportunities for social engagement, teaches students how to interact and learn how to work better with peers.

My students are learning key principles in a multitude of different types of sports.

They are also learning the importance of living healthy and active lifestyles.

Many students were fully remote for the past year and a half. This affected the amount of physical activity they engaged in. Many times, physical education is the only opportunity these students have engaged in physical activity.
